71 Days Out: Stephen Thompson Vs Matt Brown Booked For UFC 145
A handful of fights were finalized this weekend, starting with two welterweight winners from UFC 143 getting a quick turnaround and a chance to build momentum. Kickboxing sensation Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson faces Matt "Immortal" Brown at UFC 145, scheduled for April 21st in Atlanta.
Thompson entered the UFC on a lengthy 62 fight winning streak, although only five of those were of the mixed martial arts variety. His first round knockout of Dan Stittgen leaves him with a 1-0 record inside the Octagon. As for Brown, he was on thin ice entering his bout with Chris Cope, having lost his last bout and 4 out of 5 overall. A second round TKO victory secured his position in the company for at least another fight and I have to think he was happy to accept a match with Thompson. Brown has been defeated by submission in 9 of his 11 pro losses and has never lost by TKO or KO. He is 6-5 in the UFC.
Stephen Thompson is unranked. He fights out of Pitch Black MMA.
Matt Brown is unranked. He fights out of Jorge Gurgel MMA.

I was gonna post some, but this seemed to be your gig. Wanna hand?

Yeah that would be sweet.
I kind of like putting the “xx days out”, just to show the amount of time the fighters will have to prepare, so if you could keep that format in the headline that would be awesome, otherwise, have at it!
Thanks man.
