96 Days Out: Tony Ferguson vs Dennis Hallman Booked For UFC On FOX 3
Last week a match I was hoping would be made, between Nathan Diaz and Jim Miller, was announced as the first fight for the third UFC on FOX card. The card will be held in New Jersey and there was a second fight annouced last night.
Tony Ferguson will meet Dennis Hallman in a lightweight battle. I expect the fight will be on the undercard and not on the FOX portion of the show.
Ferguson is the Ultimate Fighter season 13 champion, fighting as a welterweight. Following his victory, he moved down to lightweight, where he is 2-0 in the UFC. Hallman is a veteran of the sport, recently notching his 51st career victory over John Makdessi. He is 1-1 in the UFC lightweight division, although his two fights were at UFC 29 and UFC 33, which makes it over 10 years between bouts. (His last fight was supposed to be at 155 but Hallman failed to make weight and it was held at 158.5 pounds instead.)
Tony Ferguson is an unranked fighter, according to the consensus rankings. He fights out of Knuckleheadz Boxing and Deathclutch.
Dennis Hallman is an unranked fighter, according to the consensus rankings. He fights out of Victory Athletics.
