UFC 142 Bonuses: Edson Barboza Is A Rich Man

via prommanow.com

The UFC just announced the post-fight bonuses for UFC 142 and here they are, to the tune of $65,000 each:

Edson Barboza and Terry Etim - Fight Of The Night

Edson Barboza - Knockout Of The Night

Rousimar Palhares - Submission Of The Night

Barboza definitely earned his KOTN with his mind-boggling spinning wheel kick KO. Terry Etim will have his aching brain soothed by a bonus of his own as he earned 65K as well for his performance in what was dubbed FOTN. Rousimar Palhares got himself some extra cash as well to bring home, along with Mike Massenzio's leg.

That was just wow

Incredible head kick even more incredible is the double bonus. I would at least give Aldo the ko of the night if I was giving Barboza the fight of the night

I don’t know. I think that Edson deserved KOTN much MUCH more than FOTN. They kinda won FOTN via “who the heck else are we gonna give it to?”

i thought tavares vs. stout

was much more competitive, and deserved it on those grounds alone

There wasn’t a ton of excitement to give Stout/Tavares that honor. Etim/Barboza was (arguably) just as competitive up to that KOTY contender.

I actually thought rumble Belfort was fight of the night

But no way rumble was getting a bonus.
It was a good back and forth round, the other fights were either boring or one sided.
Can’t blame Dana for not going that route though
