Nathan Corbett Talks Muaythai Premier League Win, Looks Forward to Next Bout
MMAInterviews.TV caught up with Nathan Corbett following his win at Muaythai Premier League's debut event, Stars and Stripes, on Friday night in Long Beach, California.
Corbett defeated Tomas Hron by technical knockout, after flooring the Czech fighter three times in the first round. A left hook, slicing elbow, and leg kick all sent Hron to the mat before the bout was waved off.
Friday's win over Tomas Hron is just another in the long list of early finishes that Nathan Corbett has put on in his career. Corbett has dominated the Australian Muay Thai heavyweight scene for some time now. Despite taking infrequent fights against top level competition outside of Australia, Corbett has always found success when he does. Interestingly enough, many fans are likely most familiar with Corbett because of a bout that had no decisive end at all - a 2009 contest with Tyrone Spong which was declared a no contest.
In addition to talking about his win, Corbett also mentions that his next Muaythai Premier League bout will be against an opponent from Belarus. Well, assuming that is accurate information, he's going to be facing Dzianis Hancharonak the next time out. Hancharonak is the MPL heavyweight division's youngest competitor, and defeated Sergio Cairo at the Kickboxing Empire event in Las Vegas this July.
