Enfusion Kickboxing: American Duo Survive Tournament Opening Round
Kickboxing fans may recall hearing that Enfusion was set to begin filming its third reality television-styled kickboxing tournament this week in Macedonia. That tournament, named the Trial of the Gladiators, is being contested at 85 kg. and is featuring a good range of international kickboxing talent.
While the biggest names in the tournament field are It's Showtime 85 kg. champion Sahak Parparyan, Wendell Roche, and Hakan Aksoy, organizers have released a bit of news which is certainly promising for American fans. Eddie Walker and Andrew Tate, the two American fighters appearing in the tournament, have made it through to the quarterfinal round.
Eddie Walker fights out of Atlanta, Georgia and has built up a bit of hype in the region having taken home local trinkets in Muay Thai. Walker has done well for himself at the amateur level, and has also competed in MMA a bit. In fact, he did a brief interview with former SB Nation mixed martial arts blog MMAForReal just a little over a year ago.
As for Andrew Tate, well, while he'll be representing the United States in the Enfusion tournament, he's actually residing in England. He's been living there for some time and fights out of Storm Gym, just outside of London. Tate, considered one of the top cruiserweights in England, recently won an ISKA full contact world title.
The quarterfinal bouts for Enfusion's Trial of the Gladiators actually happened earlier today, but it looks as though we'll have to wait until the season is edited and distributed before we'll learn much more in the way of results. Be on the look out for related news.
