Chahid Oulad el Hadj vs. Robin van Roosmalen - 70kg. MAX
Round 1: Both fighters trading punches and leg kicks early, Chahid a bit more active. Lot of inside leg kicks from both. Van Roosmalen with a solid hook around 1:20 left, follows with a solid leg kick. Both are throwing solid hook-cross combinations, Van Roosmalen appearing to land somewhat better. Jab sneaks through the guard of El Hadj around 1:00. El Hadj with a knee to the body around:20. Van Roosmalen with a flurry, Chahid returns fire and the round ends. 10-9 Robin van Roosmalen in a terribly close round. Round 2: Trading, van Roosmalen's speed is honestly seeming to be the difference as he counters el Hadj. Scores nicely with a right hand, both ending combinations with leg kicks around the 2:00 mark. Trading throughout the round, both land absolutely nasty shots around the :20 mark. Van Roosmalen lands quite a nasty punch right near the bell. I would say 10-9 el Hadj on this one. Round 3: The first thirty seconds are absolutely beautiful, both trading shots. Kne from van Roosmalen around 2:00. Uppercut, cross, inside leg kick from him. Right hand from Chahid, stiff jab from van Roosmalen. Trading again around 1:30. Shots to the body from both men. El Hadj narrowly misses a hook at 1:00, van Roosmalen responds with speedy combinations. Big right hand from Chahid lands on the gloves of van Roosmalen, who responds and is countered with a left hook that seems to graze him. I've got Robin van Roosmalen with a slight edge, but probably going to an extra round. A 4-1 decision is announced and Robin van Roosmalen is the winner! Chahid landed harder shots particularly toward the end of the bout, but it seems that van Roosmalen's ability to dictate the pace of the fight really did play with the judges. A truly excellent bout.
Rachid Belaini vs. William Diender - 70kg. MAX
Round 1: You really do get the sense these two don't care for one another. The round beins and Belaini lands some leg kicks early. They trade, nothing landing dramatically, Diender with a stiff jab and Belaini goes to the body. Diender tries for a flying knee, lands a solid combination on Belaini about ten seconds later. Again with a flying knee that misses. Belaini throws wide rights and a knee around 1:10. Diender with a counter right, they exhange hooks. Belaini lands hard around :40, Diender seems a little troubled by it, Belaini lands another hook. They're trading, Diender's size advantage really is apparent here but Belaini is doing well enough for himself. 10-10. Round 2: Trading early, both landing, Diender landing harder but abandoning defense and Belaini responding accordingly. Big left hook from Belaini around 2:00. Finds a home for the hook again around 1:45 after going to the body. Diender has backed Belaini into a corner around 1:30, takes advantage of it but Belaini works his way out. Body kick from Belaini doesn't land too well around 1:07, uppercut from Diender around :55. Huge hook from Belaini around :40. Belaini with his back to the ropes, lands a huge right hand although he's allowing Diender to throw too much his way. 10-9 Diender. Round 3: Huge shots coming from both men early in the round, Diender has Belaini baked against the ropes. His mouthpiece goes flying and they reset. Diender backs him against the ropes, Belaini lands some counter hooks but Diender is still dictating where the fight hooks place. Huge right hand around 1:52 from Diender. Uppercuts being mixed in effectively. Uppercut appears to snap Belaini's head back around 1:20. Belaini looks tired and Diender continues to control where the bout is taking place. Massive hook from Belaini around :32 but he's not winning this. Huge uppercut around :18 from Diender! Round ends, Diender got the better of it, 10-9 is his favor by my estimation. William Diender is declared the winner by unanimous decision. Belaini speaks after the bout and says that although Diender won, he still didn't break his jaw - as Belaini did in their first bout. Accurate description, but Diender is still up 2-0 in this series.
Wendell Roche vs. Danyo Ilunga - It's Showtime 95kg. MAX title
Round 1: The German Ilunga and Dutch Roche both trace their lineage to the Congo. Roche comments in pre-fight interviews that he should take a test and see if he is Ilunga's father - Roche is absurd. Bout begins and they trade a little. Ilunga against the ropes around 2:20 but looks to land a grazing knee. Around 2:00, very nice low kick from Ilunga, stiff jab from him around 1:50. Body kick, knee to the body from Ilunga. Roche does well with a shot to the body of his own, but Ilunga lands another knee to the body. Low kick from Ilunga around 1:08. Stiff jab from Ilunga, doing real nice work with that. Very nice knee from him around :25. Roche finally lands some solid shots, an uppercut and hook. They throw a little more and Roche lands with the same combination to close out the round. 10-9 Ilunga. Round 2: Nice cross from Ilunga, he's throwing quick shots. They're trading, but Roche isn't landing too much. Some knees from Ilunga, his movement and ability to counter is really the difference thus far. Knee and a right hand from Ilunga, uppercut and hook. Roche smartly responds with a leg kick. Uppercut from Roche that doesn't look to land well. More leg kicks from Roche and the bout has slowed a bit. Right hand from Roche around 1:07, cross and leg kick from Ilunga. Right from Roche. ARound :30, Ilunga lands a right, misses with a left, lands a leg kick. Knee to the body from Roche, a few more shots landed by both men until the round closes. 10-9 Ilunga although it was less definitive than the first. Round 3: Knee from Ilunga, hook from Roche. Ilunga back to moving well, throws a knee and cross around 1:50. Leg kicks from Roche, nice jab from him around 1:35. hook to the body from Ilunga, and he's working those shots well now and mixing in leg kicks. He's also using his range effectively at times, very impressive. Then Roche lands a very nice right hand around :52. Nice jabs from Ilunga, Roche lands an excellent right hand but doesn't follow up. They trade, Roche landing punches and Ilunga with a few leg kicks. I would say another 10-9 Ilunga. Round 4: Ilunga back to that hook to the body around 2:30. Roche is pushd to the ground, they reset and Ilunga again controlling with combinations and good movement. Another hook to the body from him. Throws some more, lands two more body shots around 1:10. Back to it at :53. Good effort on an uppercut from Roche at :40, didn't look to land cleanly though. Right crosses from Ilunga, they both throw big right hands that don't connect. Ilunga with a hook that lands, Roche not landing cleanly with his shots. They trade right hands at the end of the round. 10-9 again for Ilunga. Round 5: roche throwing hooks, some look to land. Ilunga goes down but it appears a push. Ilunga does look somewhat hurt, but now he's responding well with shots of his own and some knees coming in. This could be Roche's opportunity. Ilunga's mouthpiece out and they reset. Both missing with big hooks, Ilunga lands a solid cross and a left hook to the body. Leg kick and knee from him, Roche throws and Ilunga pushes him away. Nice counter hook from Ilunga around 1:20. Roche throwing big and landing a little but nothing very clean. Wide right looks to land for him around :52 while Ilunga continues to do work. IT's really all about Ilunga's movement, he's adding in leg kicks, throws a head kick, a knee up the middle. Right hands from Roche that aren't clean. Stiff jab from Ilunga ends the bout. Another 10-9 for Ilunga in my book. If Roche is indeed Ilunga's father, we've hit that awkward point where the younger generation has clearly overtaken the older. The official decision seems a mere formality, and indeed Danyo Ilunga Scores come in and it's unanimous: 49-46, 50-46, 50-47, 50-47, 50-46. Danyo Ilunga is the new It's Showtime 95kg. MAX champion. The Bonjasky trained fighter is clearly somebody to watch going forward.
Artur Kyshenko vs. Gago Drago - 70kg. MAX
Round 1: After the Drago Dance, we are ready to go. Southpaw Kyshenko lands a left to the body early. Cross-hook combination from him amidst some shots that they are trading. Kyshenko more busy, left up top then to the body. He's thrown a couple knees already too. Looks like he split the guard of Drago with a left cross. Kyshenko misses with a head kick. Drago throws a good left hook around 1:38, Kyshenko coming with uppercuts about ten seconds later, moving well and goes back to the body. Looks as though Kyshenko has caught Drago well. Camera angle isn't good, but looks as though Kyshenko has split Drago's guard with a left cross once more. Kyshenko in the corner around :30 but Drago not capitalizing. Leg kicks from Drago. 10-9 Kyshenko here. Round 2: Kyshenko to the body early once again. Drago doing nice work with the leg kicks, but Kyshenko still controlling. Good speed and Kyshenko is landing some lefts. A knee seems to have wobbled Drago, he responds by throwing heavy hands and some good leg kicks. Threw left hands from Kyshenko, one to the body and two up top around 1:40. Drago trading leg kicks for Kyshenko's left hand. Overhand right from Drago around :35, Kyshenko back to throwing knees. Right hook looks to have landed for Kyshenko and he's landing with Drago against the ropes at round's end. 10-9 Kyshenko. Round 3: Kyshenko landing better early in the round, his speed is a problem for Drago. Leg kick turns into an accidental low blow from Drago. Kyshenko with a head kick that doesn't land cleanly, follows with a left and right. Gets Drago in the corner, does work. Throws another head kick once Drago gets out the corner. They exchange at 1:30 with Kyshenko landing the most clean shot, an overhand left. Kyshenko works the jab now, comes in with a knee. Opening up with combinations now, Kyshenko not landing everything with still scoring. Spinning kick from Drago misses. Drago with another leg kick while Kyshenko lands a few more shots. 10-9 Kyshenko again. Kyshenko is announced as the winner.
Andy Souwer vs. L'houcine Ouzgni - 70kg. MAX
Round 1: Ouzgni working from outside early, the height differene is extremely pronounced seeing these two in the ring together. Souwer throwing when he can, in and out with jabs and crosses. Souwer lands a hook around 1:30. Ouzgni with a knee to the body, shots to the body and leg kicks. Souwer has been landing leg kicks, and doing work to the body. Ouzgni looks to land a cross from the southpaw stance, then throws a knee while Souwer throws a right. Jab-cross from Ouzgni in the orthodox stance now. Souwer with a close 10-9. Round 2: Knesss from Ouzgni, Souwer drops him with a left hook. Ouzgni responds with combinations and some knees. Souwer is working better though, landing combinations and ending with leg kicks. Flying knee from Souwer doesn't land cleanly. Inside leg kick from him, shot to the body. Uppercuts from Souwer don't land cleanly but he follows with a solid combination and a grazing head kick. Ouzgni responds with a push kick and a left cross. Just not landing effectively. Ouzgni keeps range nicely, but only for a moment. The leg kicks from Souwer are really starting to pile up. 10-9 Souwer as the round ends. Round 3: Souwer comes out teeing off on Ouzgni, but Ouzgni doing well himself. Lands a knee to the head of Souwer, Souwer throws him to the ground. They reset, Ouzgni landing with shots from range now. Souwer with a nice inside leg kick. They exchange for the next minute, but Souwer is doing the better work with superior hand speed. Souwer throws a flying knee with :45, doesn't land cleanly. They trade shots from there, nothing huge lands but Souwer again is still getting the better of it slightly. 10-9 in his favor. It really was a dominant performance. Andy Souwer is declared the winner by unanimous decision.
Hesdy Gerges vs. Daniel Ghita - Heavyweight
Round 1: Leg kicks early, a body kick or two from Gerges. Gerges jabbing and following with crosses to the body. He counters a leg kick with a cross. Ghita going to the body, follows with leg kicks. They're still trading, the most pronounced shot thus far was probably a right cross from Gerges around 1:32. Nice speed on display from both men, Gerges in particular. So many leg kicks. Nice right crosses from Ghita around :40 but Gerges is keeping a solid guard. He lands a good right cross himself around :22. Ghita swiftly moves his head out of the way of a Gerges uppercut. Gerges is throwing real crisp combinations, Ghita probably threw more in the way of the leg kicks. Pretty even round in my eyes, Gerges with a very close 10-9 if you made me decide. Round 2: Leg kiks again from Ghita, Gerges opening up with punches and hits Ghita probably.... ten times??? while Ghita has his hands down. Evidently he is not impressed by Gerges' power. Still, punches land and score. Back to leg kicks from both, Ghita throwing nice combinations and Gerges lands a pronounced cross around the 2:00 mark. Both landing shots, nothing major. Ghita looking a little slowed as he throws a big right, and he's hit with a low blow around 1:10. Wait, they're giving him a count... was it a body shot? Surely didn't look it. Back in, trading and Ghita lands a pretty nice cross and and uppercut probably ten seconds later. Gerges landing shots of his own, Ghita comes with a counter hook and the round is over shortly there after. I would say 10-9 Gerges narrowly again... but that's of course different if that was indeed a knockdown. Ghita will need to do something here in the third. Round 3: Both men land a few counter shots early, Ghita returns to his leg kicks. Left hand from Ghita. Right cross from Ghita around 2:00. Big body kicks from him and some body shots, Gerges responds with a right hand. Same sequence repeated. Ghita is doing work with these body shots now. Ghita works to the body and around :50, Gerges throws a nice right hand. Ghita still working the body and wobbles Gerges with a big right hand. Gerges lands one himself and Ghita lands another. The bout ends with some more shots traded, both fighters land a couple shots. 10-9 round for Ghita there. The decision is announced and the winner by unanimous decision is Hesdy Gerges. Daniel Ghita, clearly unhappy with the decision, leaves the ring while Chakuriki Gym poses for photos.

FUCK
How did I miss this? Ghita is the man I would least like to have angry at me on this planet.
You’re doing amazing work here, Brent.
