Strikeforce Announces Return of Gina Carano

On a night marked by a number of quick heavyweight bouts, Strikeforce announced the return of Gina Carano. The 145lb. fighter was long the face of female MMA and Strikeforce had clear intentions to position her as a major draw for the promotion prior to her loss to Cristiane Santos.

Carano's return was announced quickly following the bout between Sergei Kharitonov and Andrei Arlovski. The brief interview which served as a platform for the announcement did not offer much in the way of valuable information. Gina Carano has been training - we knew that. She made a movie - yep. She giggled awkwardly - we knew about that too.

No word on exactly when Carano will return, nor who her opponent might be.
