Mayhem/Kennedy III Off
This is some disappointing news to give you since I've been looking forward to this fight. The first two have been great and Tim Kennedy and Jason "Mayhem" Miller both put on great fights. Unfortunately, it seems we'll have to wait even longer for the rubber match.
Instead, fans in Columbus, Ohio will be treated to Tim Kennedy taking on Luke Rockhold. It's not as significant a fight as Rockhold is coming back from injury, but the fight will most likely end up being incredibly technical. It will answer a lot of questions people have with Luke Rockhold, one of the top prospects in Strikeforce's Middleweight division. This is a major step up in competition though for Luke, who has been out for over a year and whose best wins is over Jesse Taylor and Paul Bradley.
Tim Kennedy will be looking to rebound after a hard fought bout with current Strikeforce Champion Renaldo "Jacare" Souza for the Middleweight title. The fight was a Unanimous Decision for Jacare, but there are still some questions about the win. Many had the fight scored for Kennedy who won the striking and wrestling portions of the bout. A fight with Rockhold will provide a nice jump off point for the Special Ops sniper and potentially build towards the Mayhem bout.
The bout will be the second on a main card featuring Marloes Coenen defending her title against Miesha Tate and Rafael Cavalcante's first title defense against Dan Henderson. The Arnold Classic will be held the same weekend as the Strikeforce event.

yeah i find that odd aswell
Jacare and Diaz said no and now is Kenndy being replaced. Are people afraid of Mayhem ? He is a good wellrounded fighter but he isnt great at anything.
Maybe there is a chance we will see Jacare vs Mayhem III i really hope so.

I disagree that Tim beat Jacare standing.

I’m thinking it is one of two possibilities:
First, they’ve managed to get Diaz to agree to fight Mayhem and they want to book that right away.
Second, and most likely, they yanked him to fight Jacare. Jacare needs a challenger, and even if he doesn’t want to face Miller again he’s the one who asked for an immediate fight. Strikeforce pulled Miller because they know he’s their biggest possible draw against Jacare and they didn’t want to see him possibly getting derailed by Kennedy,
