Head Kick Legend Exclusive: John Wayne Parr vs. Mike Zambidis III

John Wayne Parr

On January 18th, Brent Ducharme broke the news on this site that John Wayne Parr would retire at the end of 2011. With the story being posted, Mr. Parr also registered for the site. I reached out to him to see if he'd be open to providing us with an exclusive interview. He said yes and Brent sent him a list of questions. Mr. Parr was gracious to answer everything that Brent asked and even provided us with a little bit of news that I would like to break right now. Don't worry, the rest of the interview will be posted around 10:00 am on the 24th but this is too good to wait.

John Wayne Parr will be fighting Mike Zambidis on May 28th in Melbourne under K-1 rules. In John Wayne Parr's own words:

Brent Ducharme: Beyond that, you've mentioned wanting to fight upwards of six times in 2011. We both know that fans are talking up various bouts for you, but are there any fights booked or is there any sort of a timetable for the coming year that you could let us in on? Any promotions or locations you would particularly like to fight in? John

Wayne Parr: I have one fight that is 100% and that will be May 28th in Melbourne with a third installment of Zambidis and myself under K-1 rules. That should be a great fight again as Zambidis has looked stronger than ever his last few fights, but I still will do my best to make sure I win.

We are privileged to break this news and if you are an Australian kickboxing fan please go to the fight. And review it on this site. You will not regret it. After the jump are the first two fights. The first fight is an absolute classic and the second was just as great.

Very cool news

and I don’t know why, but Zambo’s gloves each look like they’re as big as his head in that first fight. Just weird looking
