Brent here, taking on tonight's duties for Matt since he asked me to a little while ago.
Willamy Freire vs. Waylon Lowe
Round 1: A little late to set up here - Facebook hates me and I'm also trying to cook dinner. I saw Lowe get a takedown, Freire push for a kimura from full guard. Miragliotta with a restart, Lowe lands, they're back down and little else in the way of offense. 10-9 Lowe.
Round 2: Lowe and Freire end up clinched against the fence. Takedown by Lowe again, Freire looking for a triangle this time. Lowe with a slam; not one you'll see on highlights, but hey. Lowe gets to half guard eventually and they're stood up. Another takedown. 10-9 Lowe.
Round 3: I just completely missed that round because my computer still hates me.
Official decision: Waylon Lowe defeats Willamy Freire by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
Mike Brown vs. Rani Yahya
Round 1: Rogan is talking about Yahya's grappling credentials before the fight. Yahya with kicks from the outside, Brown downs him with a shot. Back up and Brown is stalking Yahya. Yahya shoots for a single, abandons it, had Brown's neck for a moment. Back to the ground, Yahya gains dominant position and Brown attempting to get back up up against the cage. Yahya in Brown's guard, a guillotine attempt while I'm tending to my pasta does nothing for Yahya. Yahya trying to take Brown's back for the last minute or so, the bell rings. I would have to say 10-9 Yahya.
Round 2: Trading shots, Brown catches Yahya once, Yahya responds with knees. Yahya jumps into a guillotine, to the ground and another guillotine attempt. Brown ends up in Yahya's guard, he's getting swept, it's coming. Annnd they're back to the feet. Yahya going for the neck while on the feet again. Yahya lands a jab and some kicks, Brown throws a right hand and they're tied up. Brown throws a jab with nothing on it. Rogan tells me there is nothing on it. Brown trying to imitate Matt Hughes in the Ricardo Almeida bout, but it's not happening. 10-9 for Brown, maybe?
Round 3: Surprise: Brown's corner doesn't want him grappling against Yahya. Brown ends up against the cage looking to keep Yahya from securing a takedown. They end up on the ground, Yahya on top and gets Brown's back with about 2:50 left. RNC attempt, doesn't pan out, we're at 1:20 and Yahya is still on Brown's back, punching him in the head. Stood up, Yahya warned about punching the back of the head. Back to the ground, Brown takes the back, half guard momentarily and Brown frees himself only to get reversed. 10-9 Yahya as far as I can see, makes it 29-28 for him. I wouldn't be terribly surprised by a 30-27 either.
Official decision: Rani Yahya defeats Mike Thomas Brown by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).
DaMarques Johnson vs. Mike Guymon
Round 1: Guymon shoots, they're in the clinch. Johnson ends up taking Guymon's back, body triangle in and Guymon verbally submits. Rogan says it's a rib injury, my Facebook feed isn't clear enough for me to tell you.
Johnson compares it to foreplay with no orgasm in the post-fight interview. I have no words.
Official result: DaMarques Johnson defeats Mike Guymon via submission (injury).
Yves Edwards vs. Cody McKenzie
Round 1: McKenzie with a hook and cross, shoots in. Gets Edwards down momentarily. Back, trading some shots, McKenzie drops down again, has a single but it's not happening. Trading, McKenzie takes a hard leg kick. Yves lands a decent looking cross. McKenzie slips while throwing a head kick, back up and Edwards goes to the body. Yves stuffs a takedown. McKenzie is really liking that hook-cross tonight. McKenzie tries to pull guard, gets mounted. He gets an.. inverted body triangle? Down and back quickly, a few shots traded and the round ends. 10-9 Edwards.
Round 2: Edwards' corner wants him to jab, McKenzie's doesn't want him drinking too much water. Edwards with a solid combination and what appeared to be a glancing head kick. Edwards going to the body well. Spinning elbows from McKenzie, Edwards with a leg kick or two. They're down, back up, McKenzie takes Edwards' back and looks to be stepping over to gain mount. Ends up in side control. McKenzie taking the back again, landing pretty hard looking right hands. Back up, back down. McKenzie on Edwards' back again. Do I even need to tell you at this point? I guess I will: back up, back down. Yves to side control, then full mount with 1:00 left. McKenzie gives up the back, Edwards has the rear naked choke and it's over. It has to be over. McKenzie isn't tapping. He's out. Yeah, it's over.
Edwards with a 50 Tyson shout out in the post-fight interview. Not that you guys will know what that means. Yves wants me to donate money. Yves doesn't know I'm broke.
Official result: Yves Edwards defeats Cody McKenzie via submission (rear naked choke).
Spike broadcast after the jump........
Now onto the Spike broadcast... After twenty minutes of commercials...
Round 1: Trading shot early, Wiman throwing wider. Thai plum from Miller, quick knee. Leg kicks from Wiman. Wiman looks to be placing an emphasis on ending combinations with leg kicks. Thai plum again, another knee from Miller. Miller to the ground, Wiman throws hands and elbows from the top. Half guard, Wiman gets up, back down and back to full guard now. 10-9 Wiman for me.
Round 2: Wiman opens with an inside leg kick, goes for a guillotine. They scramble, up and Miller goes for a knee. Miller on his back and Wiman looking to land. Down into half guard. Miller tries to sweep Wiman and they're back on the feet. Wiman has Miller pushed against the cage - they're trading wide shots. Wiman follows Miller down and catches him with a big shot after a moment. And another probably 15 seconds later. Wiman has thrown the old double chop on four occasions so far, something a little different, why not? Wiman in Miller's guard with about 1:00 left. Wiman gets out of Miller's guard, lands from the top, round ends. A definite 10-9 for Matt Wiman.
Round 3: Wiman getting the better of the standing exchanges for a solid minute, dives for a guillotine with 4:09 left. He lost it shortly after. Wiman with a hard elbow and stands up. Hammer fists, straight right hands. Wiman moving between side control and punishing Miller with shots. 1:40 left and Wiman is in Miller's guard again. Left elbow from Wiman, Miller trying to throw shots from the bottom but it's not doing much. Right elbow from Wiman. I have to give him credit on this ground and pound. Wiman standing over Miller, lefts and rights, takes Miller's back. Stands up over Miller, punishing him to end the bout. 10-9 Wiman, that makes it 30-27 as far as I can tell.
This commercial just called Lesnar the biggest name in MMA. I need a moment.
Post-fight interview: Wiman is good people, but he just said he left his TV on in his house so his pets could watch. I hope they give him positive feedback when he gets home.
Official decision: Matt Wiman defeats Cole Miler via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27).
Rogan is speaking with Vitor Belfort. Belfort is a very philosophical dude. He's like the Brazilian Yoda. Yodaldinho. Yeah. I like that.
Round 1: Forty seconds in and they're in the clinch. Thirty seconds later and Barry has his back to the cage. Beltran throwing shots to the body and grabbing a leg. Yamasaki resets them with roughly 2:45 to go. Leg kick from Barry. Beltran throwing but not landing. Another leg kick from Barry. Barry goes high with a kick that slaps Beltran's hands. Beltran gets Barry against the cage again. Barry got hit low twice, the second one was caught. Barry has his time, he looks both angry and uncomfortable. You know those rounds where there is nothing to score? This is one of those rounds. A few leg kicks from Barry, some shots to the body from Beltran and the fact that he held Barry against the cage? 10-9 Beltran.
Round 2: Leg kick from Barry. Head kick that grazes Beltran's head. Beltran comes with a leg kick of his own around 4:25. Head kick from Barry off the hands of Beltran. Leg kick from Barry and Beltran returns some shots that fail to land clean. Leg kicks from Barry. Beltran lands a right hand or two and gets Barry against the cage. Foot stomps! Beltran gets Barry to one knee, then back up and not trying to go down. Yamasaki calls for the restart around 2:17. Barry with a high kick, Beltran returns fire and Barry with another solid leg kick. One more leg kick that hurt Beltran. Head kick lands. Left hand lands. Leg kick lands. Left hand again. A wild uppercut from Barry misses. Beltran with a leg kick and Barry with one ten times harder a few seconds later. Kick to the body from Barry around :28. Beltran lands some shots a the end of the round, a pretty nice knee included. 10-9 Barry as far as I can see. I don't think Beltran's left leg can take much more.
Round 3: Trading stikes, Beltran takes a leg kick at one point. Barry slaps another head kick off Beltran's hands around the 4:00 mark. Barry with his back to the cage, Beltran goes to the body and gets some foot stomps in. Beltran lands some right hands. Barry responds with a leg kick. Shots against the cage from Beltran. Off the cage for a moment, Barry with a leg kick and they're back to the cage. Yamasaki resets them around 2:13. A total of four leg kicks from Barry and Beltran seems to have been poked in the eye while taking the final one. Doctor in, says he can continue, doctor out. Leg kicks from Barry. Beltran catches a leg. Barry with another leg kick after getting the leg free. They're on the ground, Barry on top and punching Beltran in that left leg. Barry in full mount. They're back up with :40. Head kick from Barry and Beltran takes it. Left to the body from Barry, leg kick from Barry and they trade. Two or three more leg kicks from Pat Barry and the bell rings. Beltran is down as soon as it rings. I have this as a 10-9 for Barry, giving him the win 29-28.
Official decision: Pat Barry defeats Joey Beltran by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).
Round 1: Roop throwing leg kicks, crosses, gets a teep in there. Hominick throws a right hand that floors Roop. Back up, little landing. Hominick with a hook. Roop is looking a little gossed over. A cross lands, and a hook follows it shortly after. I'm not sure that Roop knows where he is, but he knows to try throwing strikes back. Now he's he's down and the referee halfheartedly steps in after a left hand. The bout is over. The referee walks away from Roop while he is still well out of it. Rogan is complaining about it, and rightly so.
Official result: Mark Hominick defeats George Roop via TKO.
Rogan talking to Anderson Silva now. Silva is basically just chilling.
Round1: Trading leg kicks, Hague grabs a leg just after the 4:00 mark. Mitrione up against the cage, turns Hague around at about 3:20. They're back in the middle of the cage, Mitrione with an inside leg kick and Hague returns with a leg kick of his own. Mitrione drops Hague with a left hand. Back up, few shots traded and Hague shoots in. Mitrione avoids it, throws a head kick, throws a leg kick. Drops Hague again. Big right hands on the ground, and it's over. Matthew Roth of this very blog told folks that Matt Mitrione could succeed in this division a while back.... and that's all I'll say.
Official result: Matt Mitrione defeats Tim Hague via TKO.
Evan Dunham vs. Melvin Guillard
Round 1: Body kick from Dunham. Big right hand from Guillard. Dunham goes for a leg immediately, hammerfists from Guillard. Guillard puts up a fight but goes down, has his back to the cage and trying to wall walk. Guillard back up, throws a few right hands while on one leg. Follows up with some more for posterity. Quick jab cross combination. A few kicks and Dunham responds with his own jab cross. Pace has slowed and they're trading the occasional shot. Dunham fails to connect with a body kick, Guillard drops him with a right hand. Guillard stuffs a takedown attempt. A few right hands, a knee just destroys Dunham. Two more knees, the second one is definitely not a legal strike but the bout is over anyway.
Official result: Melvin Guillard defeats Evan Dunham via TKO.

GOLD!!
How does someone with that many fights in America even get into a position to be throwing illegal knees?
Raises questions about his judgment making skills.

He gets an.. inverted body triangle?
Haha, That was hilarious! It was great to see Edwards get another crack at the big time.
Pat Barry’s leg kicks were beautiful to watch. He should be throwing them so much more often.
I don’t think the second knee from Guillard actually connected. It landed on Dunhams shoulder. The intention was there to land it but after rewatching the slowmo replay it looks like it never connected to the head.
