Anderson Silva Muay Thai Fight Video
Anderson Silva. Love him or hate him, you have to respect the supreme striking skills he brings to the table. As Silva prepares for his upcoming UFC showdown with Chael Sonnen, I wanted to visit one of Silva's less known fights that should be of note to fans here. This is a Muay Thai contest against Tadeu Sammartino. Video is not perfect, and the sound is a bit out of sync, but I thought it was worth it to see Anderson in this context.
Pretty typical Silva performance there. After he drops Smmartino with his initial flurry, he clowns a bit. The second knockdown comes from a retreating, defensive strike reminiscent of the Forrest Griffin KO. That ability to pack such power in a casual blow while retreating is scary. After that, apparently Anderson has had enough and unleashes some big kicks to end it. Dominating performance, as always, from The Spider.

THANKS for posting this. Personally I don’t care if Anderson Silva re-enacts Michael Jackson’s Thriller video while throwing jabs at his next opponent, he’s a wonder to watch.
It’s going to be a long while before we see another fighter like Silva in MMA. Jon Jones has a similar body type to Silva, but sporting the longest reach in MMA and a killer wrestling-grappling-judo pedigree. He’s not even 25 years old and growing. I wonder what will happen when his striking skills mature.

VEe is ANIMated!
Great find, thank you
I love Silva’s movement and his “precise” precision (thank you Goldie for that)
But the other guy had pretty much nothing to offer. No movement, no combos…just threw single kicks. You could tell he was intimidated/scared.
Still A Great Video Thanks for Posting
Forrest Griffen is nothing special either….
I’m not resting until I’m officially Anderson Silva status.- Jon "Bones" Jones
