Full Card for Krush.10 Including K-1 GP Champion Tetsuya Yamato
As K-1 lets their roster wait quietly for another show, Krush is there to pick up the slack in a big way. Their next show, Krush.10, is scheduled for September 20 and will feature some pretty great fights in the 63kg division.
In the main event, K-1's inaugural 63kg Grand Prix champion, Tetsuya Yamato will face fellow GP participant Koya Urabe. This is an excellent fight and a real crossroads for both men. For Yamato, this will be his first challenge since the high profile GP victory. For Urabe, this is a chance to demonstrate that he is the real GP champ. Because of the weird structure of the 63kg GP, Urabe was never actually eliminated from the tournament; he won his opening round fight, but then was moved to a reserve fight instead of the final 8. In that reserve fight he easily handled the tough Yuki Takeuchi, showing that this former Koshien fighter is now a real force in K-1. A lot of people, myself included, see big things in Urabe's future. But Yamato looked dominant in his run through the GP. This is a tough fight to call, but should be a stellar fight.
The semi-main event is also a keeper, as Koshien champion Masaaki Noiri faces Hirotaka Urabe, brother to Koya. Hirotaka was knocked out of the GP in the opening round, but still should be a good challenge. Noiri has been on a rampage over the past year, winning the Koshien tournament and looking stronger in every outing since then. This is a good chance to keep building his resume with another notable name.
Two other K-1 GP fighters also appear on the card as final 8 participant Keiji Ozaki faces Kaoru Shinya Sazaki, and Shunsuke Oishi (Koya's round 1 opponent) takes on AKIRA. Check the full entry for the rest of the card.
Overall, this looks like another great show in a line of strong shows from Krush this year. It's excellent to see the 63kg division get to hold the spotlight here. Now let's hope K-1 follows their example and gets some high quality fights out there soon.
