Sasahara on Alistair Overeem Not Fighting in DREAM: "Is Not a Matter of Money."
Rumors have been flying recently about DREAM and their financial situation, which hit American fans when Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem decided to turn down an offer to fight Ricco Rodriguez at DREAM.15. Overeem went on the record that it was merely that he wanted to fight Andrei Arlovski for the DREAM Heavyweight Title, but Arlovski fell through and his opponent changed several times. Overeem and his management opted not to fight Ricco and Martijn de Jong made a statement to the effect that Overeem's relationship with DREAM might be done for.
Sasahara talked about the "word on the streets" about their money problems and denied them, citing this being an issue of the fight falling through.
Sasahara was confident that he could put together the title bout between Alistair Overeem and Andrei Arlovski for DREAM.16, though.
