Ruslan Karaev v. Freddy Kemayo Fight Video
Been watching some old Ruslan Karaev, so here is one of the Russian Machine Gun's earliest fights. His opponent here is Freddy Kemayo, the 2010 K-1 Europe GP champion. This fight is from August 13, 2005 in the opening round of the Vegas GP. For Karaev, this is just his 2nd K-1 fight (after being quickly KO'd by Ray Sefo in his debut). Kemayo had been in K-1 for two years at this point, and was coming in off a loss to Semmy Schilt.
Excellent back kick there as Karaev lands perfectly with the heel, catching Kemayo and dropping him.
Karaev would go on to defeat Azem Maksutaj and Scott Lighty to win the GP and earn a spot in the final 16.

How about Ray Sefo?
Happy and cheering for the guy he just beat.
I can’t believe they used to let Cecil Peoples ref fights.
I love Karaev… I just wish he’d come in fighting like this against Badr last Dec.
Didn’t Sefo help Karaev out after their fight, encouraging him to stay with K-1 after he lost? I thought he had something to do with Karaev continuing to fight, I just can’t remember the details.

As Bas would say
I hope Karaev can muster up a come back some time soon. He’s fallen on some bad luck.
