Mirko Cro Cop's high kick is a thing of legend, in MMA maybe only rivaled by Fedor Emelianenko's overhand hook as one of the most feared strikes to be hit with. In particular, there is a saying about Mirko Cro Cop; Right leg hospital, Left leg cemetery. Of course this means if you get hit by the right head kick you are on the way to the hospital, but if you get hit by the left you will end up in the cemetery.

The left high kick started to gain its aura in Mirko Cro Cop's fight against the feared Ukranian striker, Igor Vovchanchyn, a man known for his own brand of strike; the overhand "Russian" hook. It was a clash of feared strikers and in a single blow Cro Cop was able to further build up his aura as a mass murder machine, cementing his spot as one of MMA's most feared strikers ever.
