Daily Fights: Bob Sapp v. Kimo
Nothing particularly relevant about this one - it's just a goofy, fun fight that I enjoy. From August 2003 in Las Vegas, here's Bob Sapp v. Kimo. This is Sapp's 6th fight for K-1 (and 6th kickboxing fight). He was 4-2, and still absolutely carried that "Beast" mystique, although it was winding down as he he was coming in off the CroCop loss. Kimo is making his return to K-1 after going 0-1 8 years before. Shocking but true fact, Kimo actually had some momentum heading into this fight as he had just defeated Tank Abbott in the UFC.
The time they give Sapp to recover here is pretty ridiculous, and a good example of the way K-1 really bent the rules for him. Didn't matter though, as it wasn't long before no amount of favoritism could keep Sapp in the win column.
