PrintToday we bring Cro Cop week to an end, and I debated what fight to include today. His epic wars with Andy Hug? No, that deserves some more attention (and we'll revisit that fight later). The battles with Hoost or Hunt? Maybe, but in the end, I went with this. Perhaps the greatest highlight reel KO from a man with perhaps the greatest highlight reel KOs in all of combat sports.
The date is October 5, 2003. Pride is debuting their new Bushido shows. Chosen to headline: Mirko Cro Cop, at the time undefeated in MMA competition and coming in off scary wins over Igor Vovchanchyn and Heath Herring. His opponent: a masked professional wrestler from Mexico with a 3-2 MMA record who figured he would take a shot at Cro Cop.
