Gokhan Saki Returns to Form; Dominates Singh Jaideep

via www.k-1.co.jp

Gokhan Saki enters this fight looking to really make another huge impact in K-1 after finding himself in a bit of a rut late last year. Saki came out swinging and refused to relent on Jaideep throughout the first round. Saki bloodies Jaideep early on and is able to negate the giant reach advantage that Jaideep has by moving in, attacking and getting his distance.

Jaideep is happy to engage, though, unlike his showing in 2009 against Teixeira where he looked uninspired and afraid to trade with the karate expert. It takes Jaideep until deep into the second round until he begins to use his reach to his advantage. The Saki that came into the ring tonight was the Saki that we all know and love, aggressive, working his angles and piecing together powerful combinations on the much taller fighter. Every kick that Saki is landing sounds like a baseball bat cracking as it makes contact with a baseball, which is not a good thing for Jaideep.

The story of this fight was Gokhan Saki was back in shape, looked incredibly motivated and picked apart Singh Jaideep for three rounds winning a very easy decision. If this is what we can look forward to from Saki 2010 looks very promising.
