boo
it went down. They dammed a little stream! ther’re never going to produce much power from that :(
it's fucking stupid to shut down streams
The people watching them have no other choice ffs
this, (meaning not finding a good steam)
not this, (the current fight)

It seems that all the pirates are asleep
while we are determined to stay awake. Either that or, like me, they are just irresponsidrunk.

Seems like it would be easier to do PBP
in MMA matches. Probably seems that way cause I’m much more MMA educated
by Infinite_Jest on Apr 3, 2010 5:03 AM EDT up reply actions
PBP in kickboxing is sort of futile
“He lands a left, right then a low kick” x100, you know? That is what PBP of Saki/Jaideep would’ve been.

I got DirecTV and wil be up a while…Saki definatly won round 1 as the best Singh Jaideep could come up with were bad knee attempts….judges called it a draw though
ty kind sir

30-27, 30-27. 30-28
i think i got that right….either way he won
the story of the fight was cobra fast leg kicks and
lots of left hooks. Saideep looked like shit
by Infinite_Jest on Apr 3, 2010 5:00 AM EDT up reply actions
Clearly there was a pretty big disparity in skill on show, buy Saki exposed him in the manner you would expect.
He won all three rounds, despite what a couple of the judges would have people believe. He was better on outright offence and specifically on the counter, with every Hardeep robotic shot followed by a combo culminating in a crunching low kick. My favourite momen of the fight was when Gokhan threw a left liver shot punch and right chopping thigh kick in one motion. Smooth.
Basically, the Indian didn’t know how to fight like a fighter with a five inch height advantage. He stayed within range of Saki’s leg kicks.constantly, didn’t establish a jab and his defensive work all round was pretty poor.
Hopefull that’s done enough to get Saki into the eventual final 16, but the quality of opposition should be taken into account.
I also feel that the new rule affected his game
Throughout the fight I saw him reach for the clinch…
by Infinite_Jest on Apr 3, 2010 5:07 AM EDT up reply actions
10-8, 10-10, third roudn is going to be 10-9
Spong would have won this if there were more roudns
Well, Spong definitely won the last round, and convincingly, but it was always going to be a 10-9 without a knockdown.
Spong was only one mistake away from a draw, because that knockdown in the first was sloppy defence on his part, plus he finished the stronger over the final six minutes. As Illogik said, if he had followed up that knee which rocked JLB then he could have snuck a draw. JLB looked beyond tired at the end.
This is why I wished the fights were 5 rounds
at least. Honestly I wish they were like boxing matches
Overeem"s opponent came out like a belly Dancer
Overeem’s boned.
Fair play Michael Schiavello, I laughed at the “Lock up your horses” line.

MURDERKNEE!
Illegal muderknee? This one I’m not so sold on being legal. It was, however, clearly murder.

Poturak won the first minute of the fight, which was probably the worst thing he could have done in hindsight.
Overeem stands a chance against anyone in the world with his power. Ultimately, I still see him falling short against elite guys, but no doubt he’s fun to watch.

his original base was grappling
Which is why I’m excited to see him go back to MMA. He’ll destroy as long as he can pass the tests (drug tests)

Hopefully Schiavello will be able to hide his hard-on during the Hari fight

I had erased the memory of that Overeem-Hari semi-final from my mind. I know most on here like the blatant pro-Hari bias, but it’s one of the worst bits of sports commentating I’ve ever seen personally.
I don’t want to see fans in the booth. I like enthusiasm, but be objective. It’s a basic job requirement.

I laughed at first and then I shook my head. That was the first time I have ever seen Mike Cogan get excited.

Pretty good night so far, nothing spectacular besides the illegal Overeem Hell knee, but a decent night of fights anyhow

Bit sad to see Aerts go down like that, especially after the obvious commitment and effort he’d shown to get into such good shape. No machine in te gym to take years off you though.
Question must be asked, how many times can yo uget hit by the same right hand? Fair play to Kyotaro, although he needs to stop crying immediately.

I see no chance
10-9 Semmy
left jab of doom buzzed Zimmerman halfway, but he came back.
10-9 Semmy
Zimmerman winging superman punches, and lounging hooks but he keeps eating knees to the stomach. I think he landed one good punch in that round.
Step to the left and throw that lead hook
Come on, ZImmerman!
Yeah that was a STUNNING performance!

I don’t really understand the Semmy hate. People talk about him as though he’s a K-1 version of Valuev, when he’s far more active and also a very good fighter. Plus he’s not so omnipotent that nobody could ever best him, so there’s normally interest going into his fights, especially at the top level.
Hari-Ignashov could be superb. Can’t see it going the distance.
