OK, So, DREAM Will Still Crown a Light Heavyweight Champion
DREAM is of course a hot topic right now, with their television deal is obvious peril and some rather quick and abrupt changes happening within the past few days. Some of the big news was the cancellation of their Light Heavyweight Grand Prix which was slated to begin at DREAM.14 in May. Well, Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting has apparently heard that a 4-man GP could happen starting at DREAM.15.
Sources within the organization tell MMA Fighting that DREAM will hold a four-man elimination tournament in July, with the winners facing off for the title later in the year. Right now, DREAM's July event, DREAM.15, is scheduled for the 19th of the month.
According to the sources, Gegard Mousasi will "for sure" be a part of it, and they are hoping Renato "Babalu" Sobral, as well.
The reason given as to why the light heavyweight tournament was postponed was due to the fact that DREAM couldn't find eight top-level competitors to commit to it.
The reason of not being able to draw in 8 top-level fighters is actually a fairly reasonable assessment, but still doesn't seem to be the whole story as fighters like Kazushi Sakuraba, Melvin Manhoef, Kiyoshi Tamura and a host of other, smaller fighters could very easily of stepped into the tournament and would have potentially satisfied TBS and their thirst for starpower.
Go with God, DREAM, if you still believe in him.

LOL
“Go with God, DREAM, if you still believe in him” SRSLY tho, UFC has all the 205 talent. So, SF and Dream are kinda screwed.

I honestly believe that they couldn't get enough talent
You know? I mean who the hell is there? The fact that Babalu fights in June for Strikeforce and DREAM is still making a play for him is funny.
