MAX GP Update: Ishii Now to Face Katsuyori Shibata
K-1 has made a last minute switch to tomorrow's MAX Grand Prix card. Antz Nansen, the scheduled opponent for Satoshi Ishii has been pulled from the card due to injury. Ishii will now face Katsuyori Shibata.
Shibata is a former professional wrestler and Dream fighter. He's a popular fighter despite a very unimpressive 4-9-1 record. His biggest win came in April 2009 when he defeated Minowaman, and he has not fought for FEG since Dynamite last year. He's currently on a 3 fight losing streak.
In all honesty, he's actually a pretty good opponent for Ishii - somewhat skilled, while also a name that piques the interest of Japanese fans. It will be interesting to see how he does on such short notice.

Ishii's pro wrestling is the strongest
Quite literally, due to the significant weight difference at play
Yeah the “pro wrestler” will get out muscled simliar to what happened to minowaman. it seems Ishii is actually learning, and coming into fights with an avid game plan. I see it to many times with judo fighter who want to come into fight and be kick boxers smh. Just use your tools judo for the most part can dictate where a fight goes.
