Badr Hari Turns Down Fight at K-1 World Grand Prix, Will Return in 2011
Badr Hari's recent release from prison in Amsterdam and subsequent suspension of the investigation has led to speculation as to what Badr Hari will do in the upcoming months. As we were let in on, K-1 was looking to put together a reserve bout for Badr Hari with Hesdy Gerges.
As it turns out, Badr Hari has decided that it is simply too soon to return to action and would like to take some time to gain his bearings and come back fully prepared.
"I want to make a giant comeback, not a half-hearted return to the ring. That's why my focus is on a complete return in 2011," Badr said in a statement. "In my last fight I made a mistake, my time of reflection isn't over."
So do not get your hopes up for Badr Hari in 2010 and be on the lookout for Bad Hari in 2011. It's Showtime has their 46th event planned for March 5th while K-1 usually has a World Grand Prix warm up in March. Of course, it isn't guaranteed that K-1 will put on a March event and there are a lot of question marks in regards to FEG's financial future. It's Showtime also has their Amsterdam ArenA event coming up in May, which could serve as an epic return for Badr Hari.
