Mousasi/Le Banner on New Year's Eve?

MMAJunkie.com is reporting that current DREAM light heavyweight champion, Gegard Mousasi, could be competing against longtime K-1 mainstay, Jerome Le Banner, on DREAM's "DYNAMITE!!" show on New Year's Eve.

Mousasi apparently has agreed to the bout, but it is not official as of today. The former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion has NOT been informed if this fight will be under K-1 or MMA rules.

Both men have competed in both kickboxing and MMA in their fight careers. Le Banner is 3-1-1 in mixed martial arts, with his last fight coming in March of 2006 when he knocked out journeyman, Jimmy Ambriz on a "K-1 Heroes" show. On the other side of the coin, Mousasi is 4-0 in kickboxing. His only notable victory came against veteran, Musashi, in 2008 at "Dynamite!!" He picked up a first round TKO in that bout.

The former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion told MMAJunkie quote, "It doesn't matter if it's MMA or K-1, so it's good for me (and) my name in Europe if I could beat him."

Mousasi also mentions his future with Strikeforce in the interview, and says he will likely fight Mike Kyle in February.
