Beast of the East Results; Andy Souwer, Nieky Holzken and Rico Verhoeven Victorious

This weekend was a busy one for combat sports around the world, with Andy Souwer's first bout of the new year taking place in the Netherlands in the Beast of the East event. Souwer was taken to a decision by Faldir Chahbari, the partially blind K-1 MAX Netherlands fighter from Team Beast of the East. It was a 5-round war with Souwer showing some wear and tear from his last few fights, but still coming out the dominant fighter. Missing in action were Souwer's Shootboxing pants.
Other notable wins on this card went to Rico Verhoeven and Nieky Holzken. World Combat News has a report (follow the link for full results).
Shemsi Biqiri won the the €25,000 KLASH Tournament. Biqiri beat Adem Bozkurt in his opening fight with a third round KO, he then defeated Arian Vatnikai in the semi finals and then won the tournament with a upset decision victory of veteran fighter and 2008 WFCA Muaythai World champion, Aliviar Limavia.
In the MMA fights, the undefeated Damian Grabowski won his 11th straight as he defeated Dion Starin. M-1 Challenge veteran, and training partner of Fedor Emelianenko, Michael Zayats lost his match to Robert Jocz via TKO.

That is why I include him in headlines like this. His first foray into K-1 might not of been the best, but he will shine at some point soon. He is def. a guy to look out for.
