Top Muay Thai Stars Kaoklai and Saenchai To Fight in US
The Muay Thai Association of America has announced the partial line-up of what already looks to be the biggest Muay Thai card to hit the US in years. The top two fights feature top-ranked international Muay Thai stars Kaoklai Kaennorsing and Saenchai Sor Kinstar, both making their US debuts. The two men will be fighting on March 14 in El Monte, California.
Kaoklai is a multiple time former Muay Thai champion. After a rough 2009, going 0-4, he has already rebounded in 2010 with a win in Thailand, and looks to stay on track here against Japanese fighter Magnum Sakai.
Saenchai is a champion in multiple weight classes and is considered one of the best pound for pound Muay Thai fighters in the world. His small frame has forced him to often take fights far outside his natural weight class, yet the superb fighter has still managed to defeat many of the Muay Thai world's elite. He will take on Japan's Tetsuya Yamato.
For any US fans with an interest in the stand-up game, this is a very rare chance to see two of the elite in the Muay Thai world. It's very exciting to have them fighting on US soil, and I look forward to seeing how this show does.
