Alistair Overeem's Dynamite!! 2009 Post-Fight Interview

Nothing new here for readers of Head Kick Legend, as we reported a few weeks ago that Alistair Overeem would fight in K-1 in March and would not be fighting for Strikeforce in April. If anything, this just makes Scott Coker look worse, as he has continually told fans and media outlets over the past few weeks that Overeem should be fighting for Strikeforce in the spring. Ouch.

overeem is he looking to avoid fedor e. or using this as a bargaining chip for more money?

yes i am obsessive, obnoxious, in your face and all about covering the spread. those are my good qualities.

Worse: he just doesn’t give a fuck.

that is sad if true but it might actually help him in a fight with fedor if it ever happens.

having a don’t give a zhit attitiude, me against the world mentality could work. he might come in full blast and surprise himself and the world. brett rogers did have fedor against the cage and held him there but he did not come close to unleashing the necessary strikes and elbows at fedor’s face. i thought fedor might be weak in the cage b/c he never had fought in one for a legit fight as far as i know. maybe overeem is that guy. fedor will be beaten by someone in 2 years. i think he is 34 so i expect him to be fighting.

i'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. i was building a house, i don't deserve this, deserves have nothing to do with it. "unforgiven"

he’ll have to beat more than just mma no names to think he’s ready for Fedor…hell, he didn’t even impress all that much in his prime sport of K-1.

Gatti. Dekkers. Pele. Aoki. Kang. Vanderlei. Basillio. Harry Greb.

his prime sport?

Overeem is a Mixed Martial Artist. MMA is his sport, not kickboxing.

It seems to me he likes all tha tmoney K-1 pays him, in comparison to the small pockets of Strikeforce. Something tells me if strikeforce had the pockets of the UFC, we’d be seeing Fedor v. Overeem in April on CBS
