Two Bouts Announced for Dynamite!! 2009

Tatsuya Kawajiri has to feel like this right now. Credit FEG

Unlike the last blockbuster press conference K-1 gave us, where multiple bouts and plenty of surprises were announced, this press conference proved to be more frustrating than anything. The beast of co-promotion has turned its ugly head for MMA fans who have been following DREAM throughout the past year or so.

The bout was set to be Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Shinya Aoki for the DREAM Lightweight Title, but then rumors started surfacing; Aoki has the flu, Aoki was offered a spot in Strikeforce, Aoki wants to go to the U.S., Aoki will get the next fight against Gil Melendez. What happened in the end was two bouts were announcing, involving Kawajiri and Aoki, but not against each other. Ouch.

Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Kazunori Yokota
Shinya Aoki vs. Mizuto Hirota

Now, there is nothing wrong with these fights, these are actually rather interesting and I do think they will be awesome fights, but c'mon. The DREAM vs. SRC format is the main excuse, with the other excuse that Aoki wants his fight in Strikeforce and would not of participated otherwise. Don't listen to any other excuse being tossed around. Aoki apparently complained to the press about not getting the Kawajiri fight while Kawajiri stayed silent, which is illogical to say the least.

There is a very good chance of that

Which is hilarious as they are trying to protect him for America!

Manhoef/Misaki..

Is the current rumor as Sakuraba is claiming injury. It has been rumored for well over a week with no confirmation yet, so who knows.

Mousasi has been rumored for over a month with Hari probably fighting JLB if everything comes together.
