Also, why the hell is the strikeforce HW champion fighting the guy who lost to Kimbo Slice, what the hell.

Well..

If you look at the HW world outside of UFC, it is rather bleak. Strikeforce still needs to offer Overeem another fight, which they haven’t done.

Seems like only weeks ago that people were saying that HWs outside the UFC were stronger than inside. Man, that changed fast.

I don’t think there’s ever going to be a REALLY good HW division, there’s simply not that many people who are that size

Look at it this way; who does AO have he can face? Fedor, Rogers, Werdum, Arlovski, then who? Sylvia? Barnett?

I think the Fedor fight will happen. Arlovski is such a wildcard right now, who knows what he’ll do. Sylvia sucks and who even knows what’ll happen with him.

The issue is Strikeforce are trying to build Fedor through those guys but that leads to a title fight where nobody knows the champion. I think AO should fight Werdum and then Fedor should fight what’s left of him after. That sets up a fight between the two in a match of at least minor interest to casuals and major interest to hardcores.

Putting exciting fights by Fedor and AO on youtube could help things along too, that’s all it took to make Kimbo a big deal.
