Video: Ignashov v. Schilt (2004)

He was their new big star and their “future” but fizzled out.

I remember things first got dicey for him after the whole debocle with New Japan wrestling Shinsuke Nakamura. The ref called the fight way too soon to protect Ignashov, but Nakamura was fine, which caused an uproar and had the fight overturned. Then there was a rematch where Nakamura made him look awful, but it was also two days after this Sem Schilt fight.

But K-1 stopped protecting him or really making a big deal about him at this point and tossed him to the wolves. Now we are looking at a guy whose most impressive win is one over Bjorn Bregy over a year ago.
