Peter Aerts: Ready for Nishijima

K-1 Legend Peter Aerts landed in Japan earlier this week and held a public workout today in Tokyo in preparation for his fight on 8.11 against former PRIDE fighter Yosuke Nishijima. Nishijima makes his K-1 debut, and Aerts had a lot to say about Nishijima's style, claiming that Nishijima is "just" a boxer, and he expects him to be wearing shoes and not throw any kicks. This would be a severe handicap against a world-renowned kicker like Aerts.

Aerts admitted that throwing a high kick isn't as easy as it used to be for him, hence why he is more hesitant to throw them in his fights lately, but warns that if he does throw one of his dangerous high kicks, the fight is over for Nishijima. Aerts goes into this fight defending the art of kickboxing and the honor of K-1.
